The mid‐season takeover of Force India F1 in 2018 saw the team name changed
to Racing Point Force India F1 Team. Racing Point was swiftly chosen by the takeover consortium, led
by
billionaire Lawrence Stroll, for no other reason than to have something to write into legal
documentation.
Creating Meaning in a Name
In 2019 the official team name became Racing Point F1 Team, with SportPesa Racing the naming sponsor
and BWT continuing their livery sponsorship. A pink and blue roundel was the only suggestion of the
teams own branding and only appears on the nose of the car ‐ as stipulated by the sports
regulations for all constructors on the grid.
Given the opportunity to present Lawrence with the brand he desired, the options were to create a
name with meaning or create a meaning in the name, Racing Point. As the only team on the grid to
exist for nothing more than racing, the whole point of the team and brand is to race.
BE ON POINT.
Formula 1 is the ultimate expression of what it means to perform. Every last detail
matters. Every component working perfectly. Every hour of practice focussed into each turn. Every
decision
made with exactly the right information to hand. Every member of the team doing their job precisely.
Every
time. Every stitch on every piece of clothing. Every menu choice. Every welcome pack sent to a guest.
Everything. Every Time. ON POINT.
The answer was at the heart of their home...
Everything on point.
